Additional Information
Kaska was orphaned when her mother was killed in November 2013 during a search for another bear that had attacked two people in Churchill.
The name Kaska comes from the the Kaskatamagan Wildlife Management Area, situated in the York Factory First Nation Resource Management Area and in the traditional territory of the Shamattawa First Nation.
